AI SYSTEM BRIEFINGS
Where these come from, and what "deploy" does
A live feed of the system watching itself: controller health and event-log findings,
plus what each connected vendor's API is doing. Vendor findings have exactly two
possible origins and the feed always says which —
published means Octopus fetched a document the vendor publishes and it changed;
observed means the change was seen in real traffic between Octopus and that
vendor.
That distinction matters: AC Infinity publishes nothing. Its API is
reverse-engineered, so there is no changelog to read and observed traffic is the only
honest source. A vendor that does publish gets both.
DEPLOY commits a finding into the built-in adapter registry — the store the
Octopus MCP server reads. It is a documentation act: it records what the vendor now
offers, appends to a history of what was learned and when, and never removes a
capability Octopus already relies on. It does not change adapter code and cannot touch
equipment.

Octopus takes a daily copy of everything you have configured — settings, alert limits,
relay timers and names, climate schedules, device names and report schedules — and keeps a
rolling five. If a change turns out badly, restore the console to how it was on any of
those days.
Configuration only. Sensor readings and the event log are never captured and never
overwritten: they are the record of what actually happened. Restoring also takes a snapshot
of the current state first, so a restore can itself be undone.

What Octopus does and doesn't touch on these controllers
Your own AC Infinity Controller 69 Pro+ units — a completely separate integration
from the pH/EC controller, sharing nothing but this login. Admins can switch a
port ON at a chosen speed, OFF, or back to AUTO (its own AC Infinity program); every
action is logged below. Read Only accounts see status only. Octopus never edits your
VPD targets, schedules, or trigger thresholds — those stay entirely in the AC
Infinity app.

How Octopus schedules survive an outage
Group any number of fans, lights, humidifiers or heaters into one schedule with as many
on/off windows a day as you need — more than the controller can hold on its own. Octopus
keeps the active-or-next window loaded onto the controller itself, so a group marked
ON CONTROLLER keeps running its current window even if Octopus or your internet
goes down. Lights can also ramp up and down around each window.

HUMIDITY CONTROL
What this does, and what the controller cannot do on its own
The controller's own AUTO is a switch: it runs a device at one fixed level whenever a
threshold is crossed and stops when the reading recovers. It does not vary intensity to
hold a number. This does — Octopus reads the room and steps the humidifier's level up or
down to keep humidity inside a band.
It moves one level at a time, no faster than the interval you set, and does
nothing at all while the reading is inside the band. Below the band it steps up; above
it, down, switching the device off once it is already at its lowest allowed level. If
readings stop arriving it holds rather than correcting against stale data. Every change
is logged to Recent Activity.
Turning it off here leaves the device exactly where it is — it stops the controller, it
does not switch equipment off.

MODE POLICY GROUPS
Keep two or more devices on the same threshold, always
A schedule groups devices around a time-of-day window. This groups them around a
threshold mode instead — Humidity, Temperature, VPD, Cycle, or a Timer — the
same choices as one device's own MORE… dialog, just shared by every device in
the group.
Once grouped, an individual device can no longer be set from its own MORE… dialog —
that would let it drift out of sync with the rest of the group, which is the exact
problem this exists to close. Edit the shared policy here and it is checked against
every device roughly once a minute; anything that has drifted (a manual change in the
AC Infinity app, or simply forgetting to update the second device) is brought back
in line automatically, and the correction is logged to Recent Activity.

CLIMATE ALERTS
When these fire, and how often
Emails you when a reading goes out of range, a device drops offline, or a controller
stops reporting altogether. Checked every 5 minutes; while a problem persists you get a
reminder every 6 hours rather than a stream. Leave a limit blank to not alert on it.
These are anomaly limits, not grow targets — set them wide enough that normal
operation never triggers them.
